A vase of roses sits on a white lace doily, reflected in the mahogany side table. A long-haired brown cat with bright green eyes sits on a floral couch regarding the roses and the red winter berries. Originally, this was just going to be a still life of the roses. My cat, Salem, jumped up to investigate and I thought he made a great addition to the piece. This piece is an original oil painting on a gallery-wrapped canvas (the sides are finished off in light peach acrylic) and has a canvas hanger on the back. Although this piece can be hung without a frame, the selected frame adds to its appeal.
