When walking in the forest in the Spring in Oregon, I often see these tiny blue butterflies.  When they're resting, with wings closed, you don't see them at all but, when they take flight, the wings are bright blue.  In this deep woodland scene, they are dancing in the light rays of the afternoon sun. This is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.

This one has an interesting history.  Years ago, I was doing a mandala with lines coming out from a center.  It came out a little off.  I attempted to paint over it with blues, thinking I'd do a pond scene but the texture of the rays  was there.  The painting sat like that for several years.  I saw a video of someone doing "squeegee painting" and thought I'd try it.  I didn't read any description and it didn't go as planned.  Plus, the lines were still there.  I put in light rays where the lines were and brought out the vertical strokes from the squeegee painting as trees.

This painting will hang just fine on a nail. Hanging hardware is not included (local art or framing stores can usually be found to add this at a nominal cost).
