Artist Bio

I have been painting most of my life. I am an intuitive painter, usually starting with a blank canvas and an inspiration, without preliminary sketching. Being out in nature is an important part of my work and my goal is to show the spirit of nature, the life I feel around me as I tramp through the woods, or walk along the ocean.
I started out a more traditional painter, then discovered pour painting in early 2020. The pour painting techniques provide a spontaneity and unconscious movement to my work.
I have been practicing zen buddhist meditation for decades and it has greatly influenced my style and subjects.
My home is in the small town of Corvallis, Oregon. I paint in a little studio, set among mystical white oak trees. My studio overlooks a nature area where deer, squirrels, many birds, skunks and opossums can be seen. Owls and hawks both have been right outside.
I am a second-generation artist. My father, Walter Sears Milnor (1936-2001), concentrated on painting large canvases of the California missions.
I have been selling online since 2002 and have an excellent track record for customer service. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.
I love my collectors and welcome your feedback and suggestions. In addition to following me on social media, you can also watch live video from ZenBreeze on www.twitch.tv
