A traveler, on his way to the temple by the waterfall, sits playing a flute under a blossoming cherry tree, the petals dancing to the melody. On the other side of the cascading falls, a torii marks the way to the temple, past a small collection of dwellings, invitingly lit as the sun sets. Birds fly up from the temple and through the golden sunset sky. This shinto landscape is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
This painting will hang just fine on a nail. Hanging hardware is not included (local art or framing stores can usually be found to add this at a nominal cost).
