A pilgrim plays his flute on the shore of a forest. Having reached the other shore, he has set his boat adrift. The yana is no longer needed. A torii sits above, waiting for the next stage of his journey. And far off on the other side of the cascading waterfall, a road leads to a temple. Birds flying up from it, just as the boat is drifting off. The sunrise is infused with dynamic purples, blues, and yellows creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. This piece is a further exploration of the line, "The Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore" from Thich Nhat Hanh's translation of the Heart Sutra. This landscape is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
This painting will hang just fine on a nail. Hanging hardware is not included (local art or framing stores can usually be found to add this at a nominal cost).
