Three pine trees stand on a reflective body of water, surrounded by swirling, dynamic patterns in shades of blue and white. The scene evokes a sense of tranquility and movement, the minimalist palette adding to the zen feeling. A Buddhist monk sits playing a flute beneath the pine trees, birds flying upwards. Perhaps it is Avalokiteshvara as the inspiration for this piece was the line, "The Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore" from Thich Nhat Hanh's translation of the Heart Sutra. This contemporary landscape is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
This painting will hang just fine on a nail. Additional hanging hardware is not included (local art or framing stores can usually be found to add this at a nominal cost, if wanted).
