Sunrise at the local lotus pond. Birds and dragonflies. Yellow iris and Japanese maple trees. One of the small fountains dancing. I cannot express my joy at seeing it. I knew they'd naturalized the pond at Starker Arts Park in Corvallis, Oregon to make it more eco-friendly with Dunawi Creek, that flows into it. I didn't know that included lotus. I'd never seen them in real life. I rounded the corner and there was all this pink. Then I got closer and realized. I then spent the rest of the summer going to sit by them, watching the dragonflies flit by. This contemporary landscape is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
This painting will hang just fine on a nail. Hanging hardware is not included (local art or framing stores can usually be found to add this at a nominal cost).
