The sunset is moving towards twilight. The lighthouse is lit on the Oregon coast. Seagulls fly over the pine trees on the headland. The last golden glow of the sunset is reflected in the ocean. The lighthouse was loosely based on Heceta Head. I loved the idea of putting in something tangible this wild, impossible setting. This seascape is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
