Dappled sunlight through the white oak trees (called komorebi in Japanese) fall on fawn lilies. Cabbage white butterflies flit through this little magical woodland near my home in Corvallis, Oregon. I was touched by the story of the person who cares for this little field and had to paint them. This dreamlike landscape, depicting komorebi (in Japanese, the word for sunlight through the trees), is an original acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the 3/4" sides are painted).
It has been lightly varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
