Luna, a beautiful horned owl, sits on an oak tree, under the gaze of the Man in the Moon. The luminous full moon, shining through dramatic grey clouds, highlights the moss on the tree branches, the golden grasses and fall foliage. A mysterious Halloween landscape from my walks at Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve in Northern California. This landscape is an original acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the 3/4″ sides are finished off in black). It has been lightly varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
