A torii on a hilltop announces the sacred space leading to a hermitage between rows of green pine trees. A waterfall cascades down the rocks. In the distance, birds fly over three snowy mountain peaks. The title of this piece comes from one of my favorite Zen Buddhist chants, "The Song of the Grass Hut." This meditation landscape is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
This painting will hang just fine on a nail. Hanging hardware is not included (local art or framing stores can usually be found to add this at a nominal cost).
