A sailboat glides through the ocean, past bluffs with scraggly trees. Metallic gold and copper form dramatic clouds as waves roll in. This Pacific Northwest seascape is an original acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
As I was pouring this painting, the little boat sort of appeared, which I then brought out the next day. It reminded me of the Rumi poem with the line, "Just to be held by the sea is the greatest luck we could have known."
