Starlings swirl through a sky in shades of blue with wispy clouds. An oak tree stands behind a vernal pool that courses through golden grasses. I painted this one on Van Gogh's birthday, using a similar palette of his painting, "The Little Stream", as a tribute, but painted a seasonal scene from my neighborhood walk by the wetlands in Corvallis, Oregon. This contemporary landscape is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors.
This painting will hang just fine on a nail. Hanging hardware is not included (local art or framing stores can usually be found to add this at a nominal cost).
